Hotel is a little bit old, but that in itself is a vibe on it's own. We had a short stay of one night. We were very glad that Mike, one of the Hotel workers, was able to speak fluent english and help us to get around. He also helped us book a trip to the Great Wall for this one day. If you are looking to stay at a Hotel in Beijing i would recommend going here.

Situated at the heart of the city, very near Wangfujing street best place for shopaholics. And it is near to Tiananmen square & forbidden city. Hotel staff were helpful in booking a cab for me in numerous occasions, as we chat is not available for Indian and due to language barrier couldn’t install Chinese other taxi apps. They were kind enough to locate me some of the Indian restaurants and booked the cab for same. Food was good as it had western cuisine (easy for western origin travellers)

We stayed 4 nights at this hotel during our trip to Beijing. The hotel was a Crowne Plaza and was bought by a local company. The building and rooms look a bit tired, but they are comfortable with a big bed (200 cm). The services are very limited as pool and gym are closed, breakfast only from 7am (many hotels start at 6am), so 2 days we just got a simple breakfast bag as we left at 6:30. Restaurant is closed, but there are many options nearby (APM is a good mall). Location is very central, although distances in Beijing are very big. Next time i will try another hotel with more services, especially breakfast time.

Unfortunately had to cancel our group reservation in January 2020 due to COVID-19. Our refund request was approved straight away and since then I have been waiting for our refund to be processed. We are now in February 2021 and still no refund! I understand lockdowns etc however the hotel seems to be operating as somewhat normal now with regards to accepting reservations and such so there is no excuse now that we haven't been refunded and that our emails are only responded to after WEEKS of us chasing. This kind of service in unacceptable and the issue needs to be resolved ASAP. We have worked with this hotel for years, which makes this situation even worse.

For first time visitors to Beijing, I highly recommend the Wangfujing area - especially if you're a solo traveler. It's a central location with several malls, souvenir shops, restaurants and western food options (ie Pizza Hut and McDonald's). The hotel offers you that access, and if you're up for it, I walked to the Forbidden City in less than 25 minutes from the hotel. Now, I'm not a big fan of taking the taxis from the airport during rush hour as those costs can exceed 150 Yuan. I actually enjoy taking the Shuttle Line 10 from Terminal 2 or 3 of Beijing airport and it only costs 25 Yuan. The shuttle drops you off by Prime Hotel which is about a 5-10 minute easy walk to the Crowne Plaza. I did it with luggage and didn't mind. It took about 45 minutes to arrive to the Wangfujing area and it was easy to find the pickup spot at the airport. Now to the hotel - I found the staff and concierge to be very helpful. The rooms were decent and wifi connection was strong. The morning buffet was ok - I didn't find much options besides fruit and croissants to my liking. I only wish the hotel gym was open 24 hours, but I believe they close around 11pm. Overall, the hotel's location is what really matters. It's great I can be near tourist sights, find plenty of dining options, and save a bunch in airport transportation with the #10 shuttle bus to/from the airport.
